Police responding to report of a threat at Winston Churchill High School

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Winston Churchill High School has been closed for the day.

Lethbridge Police are currently on scene at the north side school in response to a report of a threat received by the school earlier this morning, December 14.

As a precautionary measure, the Lethbridge School Division has closed the school and sent students home for the day.

The division posted the following notice on social media.

The investigation is on-going, and police say no further information will be released at this time.

Later in the day, the School Division announced that Lethbridge Collegiate Institute (LCI) was being evacuated as a precautionary measure. It’s unclear if this and the Churchill event are connected.
