RCMP investigating fatal Highway 3 collision

BOW ISLAND, AB – A 27-year-old man from Taber is dead following a collision on Highway 3.

At around 11:40 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, Bow Island RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 3 near Highway 879.

The preliminary investigation found that a pickup truck was driving westbound on Highway 3 and struck a semi truck travelling eastbound. The 27-year-old male driver of the pickup truck was pronounced deceased on scene by EMS.

The status of the semi truck driver was not disclosed.

The RCMP Collision Analyst attended the scene and is assisting the Bow Island RCMP in the on-going investigation.

Mounties say no further updates are anticipated and the name of the deceased will not be released.
