Library and Helen Schuler Nature Centre team for reading adventure
LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Helen Schuler Nature Centre and Lethbridge Public Library are launching their latest initiative in time for the holidays.
StoryWalk® Around Town Kits are coming soon to the Lethbridge Public Library. Starting Monday, December 20, families can head out on their own StoryWalk® adventure!
The project was first created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont and developed in partnership with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. It allows participants to read a story in an interactive manner while walking through nature. Over 300 StoryWalk® events have been hosted in over 13 countries around the world.
The program first came to Lethbridge in 2016. During that spring, the pages of Brian Wildsmith’s “Favourite Fables – The Tortoise and the Hare” came to life along the trails of the Lethbridge Nature Reserve. Since then, the Helen Schuler Nature Centre and Lethbridge Public Library have continued to expand the program. Dozens of books and some poems have been enjoyed by thousands of eager readers while exploring Lethbridge’s vast parks and trails network.
