Community invited to LPS Polar Plunge 2022 in February
LETHBRIDGE, AB – The annual Polar Plunge put on by the Lethbridge Police Service is set for February 5, 2022, to help Special Olympics.
Last year the COVID-19 pandemic forced the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) Polar Plunge into a ‘virtual’ mode, with a Lethbridge Police contingent – calling themselves ‘BRRRothers in Blue’ – taking turns immersing themselves in an unheated, iced-over hot tub to raise funds for Special Olympics.
For the 2022 event, community members are invited to join officers in jumping into the freezing water at Henderson Lake Park.
Registration is open for in-person plunges across the province in 2022, participants must agree to comply with the Restriction Exemption Program and steps will be taken to ensure the safety of all participants.
