WHL clears Hurricanes for return to team activities

LETHBRIDGE, AB – After recent multiple positive COVID-19 tests inside the Lethbridge Hurricanes organization, the WHL has cleared the team to return to team activities.

The WHL announced Friday an update on WHL COVID-19 Protocols, including the current pausing of team activities for 15 WHL Clubs.

“At this time, 15 Clubs have recently paused team activities as a result of multiple players and staff being added to the WHL COVID-19 Protocol List due to exhibiting symptoms or having tested positive for COVID- 19,” the release reads.

The Hurricanes and the Swift Current Broncos however have been told they can resume hockey operations.

Our Canes return to their regular schedule and will host the Swift Current Broncos on Wednesday, January 12th at the ENMAX Centre.

Puck drop is at 7:00 PM. Individuals with vouchers can redeem them for a ticket to the game at the ENMAX Centre or Yates Memorial Theatre Ticket Centres. Any remaining tickets will be available for walk-up purchase beginning at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, January 12.

The WHL is working in consultation with the WHL Chief Medical Officer regarding the matter concerning all Clubscurrently paused. At this time, the following Clubs have paused all team activities, including on-ice practices and off-ice training, based on WHL COVID-19 Protocols:
