AHS launches new website to help Albertans manage COVID symptoms at home

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Alberta Health Services has launched a new web service aimed at helping Albertans manage mild COVID-19 symptoms at home.

The web resource has information on what you should do if you have symptoms of the virus, how to provide effective at-home care for yourself or for a sick family member, when to test for COVID-19 and how to manage prolonged symptoms.

While much of the information has been available throughout the pandemic, AHS says this is a one-stop guide and resource to said information. The site also includes newly created videos with several regional physicians who provide current information to help ensure residents know when to seek immediate medical attention and access care.

In a release, AHS noted that “many Albertans calling Health Link 811 are unsure how to manage their symptoms, or if they need to seek care with a positive COVID-19 test result.”

“While COVID-19 can cause serious illness, most people recover without special treatment. Helping provide assurance to those who can manage their symptoms at home will ensure our resources are there for those who need immediate care.”

The site can be accessed here.
