Lethbridge College to hold nutrient management webinar series

LETHBRIDGE, AB. — Producers and and ranchers have the opportunity to take advantage of a nutrient webinar series this month.

The three day live webinar series, covers topics such as creating a nutrient management plan, on-farm composting, soil salinity and regulations for spreading and storing manure. The webinars will be held January 24 and 3, as well as February 7, running from 10 to 11-am.

On January 24, Trevor Wallace, from Alberta Agriculture Forestry and Rural Economic Development, will deal with “Creating a Nutrient Management Plan”, while Christina Seidel, from the Recycling Council of Alberta will handle “On-Farm Composting”

On January 31, Edith Olson of Lethbridge college covers soil salinity and Steven Tannas of Tannas Conservation Services Ltd., will speak about “Nutrient Loads in Feedlot and Storm Ponds, and the use of Floating Islands”

On Februray 7, Trevor Wallace, tackles the Regulations of Spreading and Storing Manure”, while Rob Lavoie of AirTerra, Inc. discusses Use of Biochar on Feedlots
