Community Foundation opens applications for spring grants

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta has opened up another stream of grants.

Applications are being accepted for the Community Priorities, Henry S. Varley Fund for Rural Life, and the Youth in Action Grants Program.

The Community Priorities Fund is the Community Foundation’s largest granting program. Via two annual calls for applications, the fund will distribute over $500,000 this year to charities and other qualified bodies throughout the region. Applications are due by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15.

The Henry S. Varley Fund for Rural Life supports projects and initiatives from community organizations that are committed to sustaining a high quality of life throughout rural communities in southwestern Alberta. Applications are due by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15.

Youth in Action Grants help empower younger people by encouraging collaboration on a project that will make a positive impact on the community. The projects funded by this grant must be initiated, led and organized by people (or a group of people) 25 years of age or younger, in collaboration with a charity or a school. Applications are due by 4 p.m. on Monday, February 28.

Anyone interested in learning more about the application process can attend a free information session on Thursday, February 10 at 10:30 a.m. on Zoom. Those interested are asked to RSVP at grants@cflsa.ca.
