Lethbridge woman arrested by Taber Police on drug charges

LETHBRIDGE, AB – On January 21, 2022, at about 3:30 am, Taber Police Service arrested a woman on multiple drugs charges.

Police were made aware of a complaint of a speeding truck in the community. A Senior Constable on patrol located the suspect vehicle and initiated a traffic stop.

The driver of the vehicle was found to be unlicensed and could not provide insurance or registration. It was later found that the driver had warrants outstanding for her arrest.

During the investigation, the Taber Police located approximately 75 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine, 6.3 grams of suspected Carfentanil, a small amount of cocaine, almost $600 in cash, and assorted paraphernalia.

“The 37-year-old female resident of Lethbridge, Jacqueline Bourassa, has been charged with several offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, the most serious being possession of Carfentanil and Crystal Methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of the proceeds of crime,” the release reads.

It’s reported that Jacqueline Bourassa “was at large on conditions relating to charges that stemmed from April 2021 for possession for the purpose of trafficking Cocaine and three other charges.”

Bourassa was then brought before a Justice and released on a Release Order with conditions to appear in Taber Provincial Court on February 8, 2022, at 10 am.
