Over $20K in drugs seized during arrest of Lethbridge man

LETHBRIDGE, AB – LPS has charged a man following a drug trafficking investigation.

Investigators with the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) and Lethbridge Police witnessed a man engaging in behaviours consistent with drug trafficking and arrested him without incident on Friday, January 21.

A search warrant was executed at a property on the 1300 block of 23 Ave North.

At the home, police seized illicit drugs with a combined street value of over $20,000.

This includes 60.2 grams of cocaine, 57 grams of fentanyl, 56 codeine tablets, and 1.4 grams of MDMA.

Officers also confiscated paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking, more than $2,900 in cash, and a taser.

Oliver Malisi, 33, is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and one count each of possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000, possession of a prohibited weapon, and possession of a prohibited weapon when prohibited by an order.

Following a bail hearing, Malisi was released from custody.
