Hay stack fire keeps Coaldale Fire Department busy Friday

LETHBRIDGE COUNTY: Coaldale and District Emergency Services (CDES) were called out at 6:00-am to a large hay stack fire in Lethbridge County on Friday (Jan 28) morning.

The fire, at the intersection of Range Road 19-2 and Township Road-10, was fully involved when fire fighters arrived on scene.

CDES were able to protect several pieces of farm equipment that were near the fire. It was determined the safest option was to allow the fire to burn itself out while fire personnel monitored throughout the day.

Several members were still on the scene Friday afternoon, conducting a fire watch, and the cause of the fire is under investigation with help from Coaldale RCMP.
