Alberta Beef Producers prepare for March AGM

LETHBRIDGE, AB. — Alberta Beef Producers (ABP) wrapped up their Producer Zone Meetings last week and are preparing for the 46 Annual General meeting the first week of March.

ABP General Manager Brad Dubeau says overall, the zone meetings were very good.

“There were some fantastic discussions throughout. The Southwest and the Southeast zones had pretty good turnouts. Unfortunately, in the northern part of our province, the Central zone, northwest and northeast, the turn outs were a little bit low but, there was good conversation and good discussion.”

Dubeau noted the meetings resulted in a number of resolutions.

“We had resolutions that came out of the northeast, southwest and southeast zones, and included such things as continuing to look at the access around road allowances onto lease land, as well consideration around a one-time check-off, and several in-between. It was a good discussion around all of the resolutions, which now go to the resolutions committee, to determine if they will go to the Board of Directors for consideration, or onto the annual general meeting, which will be held March second in Red Deer.”

If producers across the province still want to submit a resolution, Dubeau invites anyone interested to submit them.

“We would like to see continued participation from producers across the province. You can, if you wish, still submit a resolution. You can go to our website abpdaily.com, or you can contact the office directly, and we can still take resolutions to be considered for the AGM or further down the road.”

You can also find information on the ABP website about how to draft a resolution.
