Hospitalizations, ICU admissions drop in Alberta over long weekend

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The province has released an “estimated” report on COVID-19 for Tuesday, covering statistics from the past four days.

On the Alberta COVID data website, it stated “Estimated numbers will be provided today and full reporting will resume tomorrow, including a daily breakdown of cases from Friday to Monday.”

An estimated 2,110 new cases were reported over the long weekend making an average of 527 new cases per day.

The new case breakdown is as follows.

  • 400 Cases on February 21
  • 475 Cases on February 20
  • 475 Cases on February 19
  • 760 Cases on February 18

Provincially, there are 1,380 people in hospital and 95 in intensive care (ICU).

There was a drop of 114 in hospitalizations since our last detailed report on Friday and a decrease of ICU admissions by 21.

On Wednesday, there will be an updated detailed report of COVID-19 numbers.
