Feb 24, 2022 | 11:13 AM

OTTAWA, ONT – Parents are advised that several wooden teether rings are being recalled.

Health Canada has issued a recall notice for 16 different Bebe au Laid Wooden Teether Rings.

They say the string can break, releasing the wooden beads. This could pose a potential choking hazard.

As of November 17, 2021, the company has received one report of an incident with no injuries in Canada, while in the U.S., there have been six reports of incidents with no injuries.

“Consumers should immediately stop using the teether,” reads the recall notice from Health Canada. “Consumers are directed to cut the string of the teether and take a photograph of it before discarding it in the trash. Consumers can submit the online form together with the photograph to obtain a refund or credit.”

“Consumers should contact the Company by emailing: recall@bebeaulait.com or online at www.bebeaulait.com and click on “Safety Recalls” at the bottom of the page.”

Under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act, recalled products cannot be redistributed, sold, or given away in Canada.

More details on the recall, including the product numbers of the impacted items, can be found on the Health Canada website.
