More details released on Friday’s fatal collision near Picture Butte

PICTURE BUTTE, AB – RCMP have investigated the cause of the fatal collision involving two cars on Highway 25 before the weekend.

The investigation revealed a southbound car crested a hill and lost control and entered the northbound lane causing the accident on Friday, February 25 at approximately 4:45 pm.

An 18-year-old woman from Coaldale was transported to the hospital by Emergency Medical Services (EMS), where she died due to critical injuries sustained in the collision.

Three others were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
