No injuries in south Lethbridge garage fire

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Emergency crews responded to a fire in south Lethbridge Monday morning.

At around 6:30 a.m. on February 28, crews from five stations arrived on scene at 6 Avenue South and 13 Street South. There, they found a fully involved garage fire, with adjacent structures at risk.

Firefighters first protected the uninvolved garage and then brought the main structure under control.

No injuries were reported, and the City of Lethbridge stated that damage to the adjacent garage was minimal. The cause of the fire is under investigation and a damage estimate is not yet available.

The emergency response led to the intersection at 6 Avenue South and 13 Street South to be blocked off. The area has since been reopened.
