Dragon Boat Festival returns to Henderson Lake in June 2022

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Dragon Boat Festival is returning to Lethbridge for its 20th year.

After two years of not hosting the festival due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the event can take place to its full extent in 2022.

From June 24-26, the ATB Financial Lethbridge Rotary Dragon Boat Festival will be hosted at Henderson Lake showcasing races, stage events, beer gardens, and more.

The event normally accommodates 60-70 teams annually in the Dragon Boat Races, featuring competition one of its kind throughout Alberta.

The entire weekend is free to the public (with the exception of drink and food sales), there will be the following other amenities:

  • Man stage featuring all sorts of entertainment
  • Vender area with a plethora of food and refreshments, including a wide range of merchandise
  • For the kids, a KidsZone and Children’s Festival
  • For the adults, you can participate in the races, entertainment, and a beer garden

For the 20th year, Festival planning Chair Diane Randell hopes the community makes it out to show their support.

“Promoting the participation of the community, building a family-friendly event, and fostering the development of life-long friendships is a key to the success of the Dragon Boat festival.”
