MEDICINE HAT, AB – A large crowd of people gathered near the Harley Davidson store in Dunmore to welcome convoy organizer Tamara Lich back to the nearby city of Medicine Hat Saturday afternoon.

At the gathering, flags were flown and the crowd sang “O Canada” as Lich greeted the crowd, embracing some with a hug.

Lich is known for being one of the primary organizers of the convoy protest in Ottawa. She was arrested on February 17, 2022, on a charge of counselling to commit mischief.

She was granted bail on March 7 with a bond set at $25,000.

Now home, Lich is subject to a range of strict conditions. Superior Court Justice John M. Johnson ruled Lich must reside at her home address, and she is prohibited from logging in or posting messages on social media. She is also prohibited from organizing any COVID-19 related protests or communicating with other convoy organizers.

Upon her release on bail, she was required to leave Ottawa within 24 hours and be out of Ontario within 72 hours. She was also ordered to report her location daily on the way back to Medicine Hat.

Lich was originally denied bail on Feb 22, after Ontario Court Justice Julie Bourgeois ruled for her to stay in custody for the safety and protection of the public.
