Hurricanes fall 6-4 to visiting Regina Pats Wednesday night

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Following a seven-game road trip, the Lethbridge Hurricanes were back at home at the ENMAX Centre Wednesday night.

Unfortunately, the hosting team lost 6-4 to the Regina Pats.

FIRST PERIOD

The Hurricanes gained the early advantage with Nolan Bentham scoring his fourth goal of the year at the 4:21 mark. It took a while, but the Pats countered with a goal of their own to tie the game. Connor Bedard scored his 39th of the season at 17:08.

SECOND PERIOD

The second frame of the game saw a bit more scoring.

Yegor Klavdiev scored at 4:16 to put Lethbridge up 2-1.

Connor Bedard answered with his second of the game at 13:34. Bedard’s goal was followed by a goal by Logan Nijhoff, giving the Pats the 3-2 lead going into the final period.

THIRD PERIOD

Justin Hall tied things up with a goal at the 7:23 mark. Hall’s second goal of the game gave Lethbridge the 4-3 lead right after, at 7:50.

The Pats would not go away though, with Neithan Salame scoring at 10:10, Layton Feist at 14:22 and Cole Dubinsky scoring at the 15:17 mark.

When the final buzzer sounded, Regina’s late-period surge propelled them to the 6-4 victory.

The Hurricanes are on home ice once again on Friday, March 18.

They host the Red Deer Rebels at 7:00 p.m.
