Lethbridge man pleads not guilty to drug trafficking and stolen property charges

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Officials in Lethbridge Provincial Court will now work on setting up a trial for a local man.

Carter Dylan Rains, 30, of Lethbridge, is one of five people arrested by RCMP on October 20, 2021.

RCMP seized two vehicles with stolen license plates as well as drugs including methamphetamine, cannabis, and fentanyl.

Rains’ lawyer appeared in court on Friday morning and entered pleas of not guilty to two counts of possession of stolen property, two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited.

He will face a trial in Provincial Court that is estimated to take four hours.

Trial dates are expected to be set next week.
