Emma Knodel, President of Lethbridge College’s Ag Club, says raising awareness of the rich roots of agriculture in Lethbridge is important for youth.

“We’re here today to raise awareness of agriculture and the influence it has on our communities both locally and nation-wide.”

Knodel says the initiative teaches people about the agriculture industry, the new Lethbridge Agriculture Studies Degree, and the benefits of farming. She added that the reaction from students that don’t know much about agriculture has been great and they want to learn more.

On Tuesday, children were able to stop by the college and pet goats, a cow named Pandora, and a very soft rabbit. More information on agriculture sciences at Lethbridge College is available through the post-secondary’s website.
