Hurricanes win back-to-back games against the Tigers

LETHBRIDGE, AB — The Lethbridge Hurricanes claimed their second straight victory against the Tigers in Medicine Hat Saturday, April 2, 2022.

The ‘Canes had a solid win, finishing the game 6-1.

FIRST PERIOD

Tyson Laventure claimed the one and only goal in the first period, with assists from Joe Arntsen and Logan McCutcheon. The score was 1-0 Hurricanes after 20 minutes.

SECOND PERIOD

The ‘Canes added to their lead in the second period, starting with a goal by Chase Pauls, boosting Pauls to a four-game scoring streak. Alex Thacker and Yegor Klavdiev earned assists on the goal. Jett Jones later scored on a power play to end the second period with a 3-0 lead for the Hurricanes.

THIRD PERIOD

It was an action packed third period, with the Hurricanes adding another three goals. Yegor Klavdiev scored on a rebound to gain his 18th goal of the season. Jett Jones and Justin Hall earned assists on the goal.

Two and a half minutes later, Alex Thacker passed to Justin Hall on a breakaway to rack up Hall’s 34th goal of the season, bringing the ‘Canes to a 5-0 lead.

With less than two minutes left in the game, Logan Wormald swatted in a loose puck with assists from Liekit Reichle and Brayden Edwards to make it 6-0 for the Hurricanes.

Then with only 2.3 seconds left in the game, the shutout was stolen by the Tigers when Ashton Ferster deflected a Logan Barlage shot to make it onto the scoreboard.

The final score was 6-1 Hurricanes in their second straight win against the Medicine Hat Tigers this week.
