RAYMOND, AB – Commuters in Raymond are being advised of road construction planned to start this week that will affect traffic on Highway 845.

Crews will pave a 1.35-kilometre section of Highway 845 between Highway 52 and Railway Ave, while also making improvements to the Railway Ave intersection.

The project involves:

  • Realigning the sugar factory road
  • Installing new concrete curbs and gutters, street lighting, and asphalt walking path on the west side of Highway 845
  • Upgrading the sanitary and water mains and the stormwater system

Originally, construction was supposed to start on Monday, April 18, 2022, but due to poor weather recently, it has been pushed back to Wednesday, April 20.

The following detours will be in place:

  • Southbound detour route
    • Railway Avenue westbound onto southbound Broadway (Main) northbound
    • East or west on Highway 52
  • Northbound detour route in place
    • Highway 52 westbound onto northbound Broadway (Main) northbound
    • Eastbound on Railway Avenue

Work is expected to be completed by mid-July, weather permitting.
