Festival Square construction resulting in road closures this week

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The City of Lethbridge is advising motorists of several road closures starting this week as a result of the continuing development on Festival Square.
On Tuesday, April 26, 3 Avenue South with be closed from 7 Street to 6 Street South so crews can sandblast all the parking lines. The City notes that this work “will be noisy and dusty and causing disruptions in the area”. However, all walkways and sidewalks will remain open.
On Wednesday, April 27, the block between 6 Street and 5 Street will be closed to complete the same task. 3 Avenue South is expected to reopen to traffic on Thursday, April 28, 2022.
The City said, “as this construction is ongoing we remind residents to be patient and follow safety precautions when passing through these areas.” Officials noted there will be intermittent road closures for the next couple of weeks as the Festival Square work continues.
