Charges laid after vehicle crashes into Lethbridge storefront

LETHBRIDGE, AB — The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) has laid charges after a vehicle crashed into a storefront in North Lethbridge on Friday, April 29, 2022.

Police say at about 2:30 Friday afternoon, an adult male driver made an abrupt turn into a parking lot attempting to avoid a collision at the intersection of 13 Street and 2 Avenue A North.

The driver then hit a parked car, pushing that vehicle into the Fabutan storefront at 227 13 Street North.

Police say there were no injuries in the store or in the vehicles.

The LPS says the 51-year-old driver, who had a learner’s permit, has been charged with careless driving and driving without proper supervision.

Police say there was minor damage to the vehicles; however, the amount of damage to Fabutan has not been released.
