LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Cor Van Raay YMCA in Lethbridge has launched a new membership campaign.

Race to 10K starts Sunday, May 1, 2022. It celebrates the Lethbridge-based YMCA nearing the 10,000 member milestone, with the aim of achieving more than 10,000 members in May and exceeding pre-pandemic membership levels.

Debra LeBlanc, YMCA of Lethbridge’s Membership and Rentals Manager said, “our goal is to support our membership base while encouraging new members to join our community.”

The campaign encourages new members to sign up and be entered to win a grand prize of a one-year Plus Family Membership worth more than $2,250. There will be an additional grand prize for members who joined prior to May 2022.

LeBlanc stated, “we would like to sincerely thank all of [our] members that have joined and stayed with the YMCA of Lethbridge.”

“We are excited to offer two grand prizes, one for new members and one for current members. In addition to prizes, we will be hosting an event May 7th to celebrate our members and anniversary of opening [the] Cor Van Raay YMCA.”

The May 7 Race to 10K celebration will bring food trucks and activities to the Cor Van Raay YMCA. Along with the grand prizes, the YMCA of Lethbridge will be offering roughly 50 other prizes throughout the month. Prizes vary from three-month memberships, programs, community partners gifts and drop-in passes.

LeBlanc said, “members will have the opportunity to be entered to win based on the numbers of days they are active members in May, visiting the Cor Van Raay YMCA, attending a fitness class, participating in our 10K activity challenge, and sharing posts on social media.”

“We are excited for this campaign as we Race to 10-K and celebrate our members and the YMCA of Lethbridge.”
