Lethbridge man arrested on drug trafficking charges

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) has apprehended a man facing multiple charges related to the drug trade.

Officers attended a home on the 500 block of 12 Street North on May 4, 2022. They were seeking a suspect who has several outstanding arrest warrants.

In the home, police seized 20.4 grams of fentanyl and 4.5 grams of methamphetamine, valued at approximately $4,300.

They also confiscated $1,270 in cash and two stolen bicycles.

Robert Joseph Zimmer, 47, of Lethbridge, has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of stolen property under $5,000, possession of stolen property (proceeds of crime) under $5,000, and breach of a release order.

He remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
