Semi truck drops trailer blocking Lethbridge intersection

LETHBRIDGE, AB — Traffic was blocked along Highway 4 in Lethbridge at about 8:30 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2022, after a semi-truck lost its trailer at the intersection of the highway and Fairway Plaza Road South.

The Lethbridge Police Service says the semi was attempting to make a left turn when its trailer became detached from the truck and dropped onto the road.

The westbound lanes of the highway were closed by police for about 30 minutes while the trailer was removed.

No one was injured in the incident, and both lanes of the highway are now reopened.
