Victim sustains life-threatening injuries in Lethbridge assault

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) apprehended a man over the weekend in connection to an assault.

At approximately 8:20 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2022, police were called to a home on Acadia Road West.

The investigation determined that an argument occurred between two men.

The argument turned into a physical altercation in which a 25-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries. The victim was taken to Chinook Regional Hospital and later to a hospital in Calgary, where he remains in stable condition.

Jawon Kobe Weasel Fat, 24, of Cardston, is charged with one count of aggravated assault.

He was released from custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in court on June 2, 2022.
