LETHBRIDGE, AB – A community survey focused on policing in Lethbridge starts Thursday.

On behalf of the Lethbridge Police Service (LPS), IPSOS will be conducting the random telephone survey over the next few weeks to obtain information and feedback from city residents. Residents can expect to receive phone calls beginning Thursday, May 12, 2022.

The LPS states that community policing – based on the principles of partnership, ownership, problem-solving and quality service – allows law enforcement agencies to respond to the unique needs of their community. Effective community policing requires ongoing discussions with citizens, as well as a collaborative approach to identify the needs of the community.

The 2022 survey will help evaluate the overall performance of the LPS and citizen satisfaction, perceptions regarding safety, identify recommendations for improvement and help to establish the policing priorities of the community.
