LETHBRIDGE, AB — The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) has apprehended a man police say was driving in a dangerous manner.

Just before 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, a member of the LPS patrol team observed a motorcycle travelling northbound on 13 Street North in the area of 5 Avenue North.

Police say the motorcycle was driving at a speed of approximately 100 km/hr, which is double the speed limit.

Officers allege that the motorcycle crossed over into oncoming traffic lanes to pass a vehicle and went through multiple red lights.

The motorcycle came to a stop in the driveway of a home in the 1100 block of 40 Avenue North, and the driver was arrested.

Police learned through their investigation that the motorcycle had been reported stolen from a Lethbridge home in March.

Clayton Wayne Jordan, 39, of Lethbridge, is charged with dangerous driving, possession of stolen property under $5,000, and altering or removing a Vehicle Identification Number. He was also issued traffic tickets for offences, including driving without insurance or registration.

He was released from custody with a scheduled court appearance on July 13, 2022.
