Suspects wanted after aggravated assault and armed robbery

May 13, 2022 | 4:10 PM

LETHBRIDGE, AB — The Blood Tribe Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance in locating two suspects following an assault and armed robbery on the Blood Tribe First Nation.

On April 26, 2022, Blood Tribe Police were called to a residence on the Blood Tribe First Nation, where they found a victim who was suffering from a stab wound. The victim was transported to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say two men produced a firearm and demanded money from the victim. Then they allegedly assaulted and stabbed the person, before stealing the victim’s vehicle and leaving the individual on the side of the road.

Police have since recovered the stolen vehicle, but have not located the suspects.

Investigators believe this was an isolated incident because the suspects and victim knew each other. Police believe there is no immediate risk to the public, however, police say these individuals should not be approached as they could be armed and dangerous.

The Blood Tribe Police Service is searching for Corey Nelson Amyotte, 35, of Calgary, and Riley John Masuskapoe, 26, of Edmonton.

Anyone with information on this matter is asked to contact the Blood Tribe Police Service at (403)737-3800, or Blood Tribe Crime Stoppers at 1(800)222-TIPS (8477).
