Keep busy this week with these Lethbridge events
LETHBRIDGE, AB – There are plenty of events happening around Lethbridge this week. From roller disco to a showcase on learning how to make soap, there’s something for everyone.
If you’re looking to get some exercise and bring awareness to a good cause, you can join the 2022 Strides of Hope Walk hosted by the Schizophrenia Society of Alberta (SSA). Tuesday, May 24, 2022 is World Schizophrenia Day, and the SSA is hosting a walk and asking participants to wear purple in order to raise awareness. The event is set to get underway at 12:30 p.m. and takes place at the Galt Gardens located at 601 3 Ave S. Even if you can’t make it to the event, the SSA encourages you to go on a walk by yourself or with friends and family.
If walking is not really your speed, but you still want to get your heart rate up, The Place and the Lethbridge Downtown Business Revitalization Zone (BRZ), are hosting a viewing of game four of the Battle of Alberta, the second round playoff series between the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers. Starting at 5:00 p.m., 6 St S. between 4 and 5 Ave. will be closed to traffic and hockey fans can enjoy game four on seven 12 foot LED screens as well as inside The Place. The event is free and people of all ages are welcome to attend.
On Wednesday, you can learn a new skill. Simply Soaps is hosting a workshop on how to make your own soap. The course will be hosted at Simply Soaps, located at 81008 Range Road 205 in Lethbridge County. Tickets can be bought on the Simply Soap Website.
