Jason Nixon to serve as acting Alberta Minister of Finance

EDMONTON, AB – Premier Jason Kenney announced today that Jason Nixon has accepted the role of acting Minister of Finance.

The cabinet position recently became vacant after Travis Toews stepped down in order to run for the UCP leadership.

This announcement puts the speculation to rest that Nixon was considering a run at the UCP’s top job.

Nixon, who is the MLA for Rimbey, Rocky Mountain House, and Sundre, will also maintain his role as the Minister of Environment Parks.
