“Race to 10K” membership campaign a success for Lethbridge YMCA

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Race to 10K membership campaign by the Cor Van Raay YMCA in Lethbridge was a success, and celebrated both current and new members.

On May 1, 2022, Cor Van Raay YMCA launched the membership campaign with a goal of reaching more than 10,000 members in May and exceed pre-pandemic membership levels.

The organization reached more than 10,100 total members within the same month.

“There are more people than ever using the YMCA as their place to live a healthier lifestyle,” said Debra LeBlanc, Membership and Rentals Manager at the YMCA of Lethbridge.

YMCA offered two grand prizes for its new and current members to celebrate the campaign. In addition to the grand prizes of membership worth more than $2,250, members also had the opportunity to win one of the 53 prizes offered throughout the month.

“Hitting 10,000 members shows us how far we have come since the pandemic. We are on track to continue growing and supporting the community,” said LeBlanc. “We know the positive impact the YMCA can have in a community, and increasing memberships pushes us to continue providing new programs and offerings.”
