Four suspects in custody after series of break and enters in Redcliff

REDCLIFF, AB – Redcliff RCMP took four suspects into custody after an investigation into a number of break and enters lead officers to a property in Suffield, Alberta.

RCMP received a report of a commercial break and enter on June 14, 2022, where a number of computers and laptops were stolen, as well as an AED (automated external defibrillator).

On June 15, 2022, officers received another report of a commercial break and enter, where an ATV, furniture items, and other property was stolen. During the investigation, Redcliff RCMP managed to track the stolen ATV to a residential property in Suffield thanks to a GPS tracker on the off-road vehicle.

RCMP also found a truck on the property that had been stolen in Medicine Hat.

Redcliff RCMP and the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team Regional Property Crime Unit from Medicine Hat executed a search warrant, which resulted in the recovery of the stolen property, and four suspects were taken into custody.

Brian Aske of Medicine Hat, as well as a 43-year-old female and a 32-year-old male from Suffield have been charged with two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, as well as 12 counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Donald Nelson of Medicine Hat has also been charged with two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, 12 counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and two counts of failure to comply with probation.

The 43-year-old female and 32-year-old male were released and are scheduled to appear in Medicine Hat Provincial Court on July 13, 2022.

Aske and Nelson were also released from custody and will appear in Medicine Hat Provincial Court on July 28, and 29, 2022, respectively.
