Hurricanes trade Easton Kovacs to Seattle Thunderbirds for 2024 draft pick

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes have traded defenseman Easton Kovacs to Seattle.

In exchange, the Lethbridge club will receive a fifth-round draft pick in the 2024 Western Hockey League (WHL) Prospects Draft from the Thunderbirds.

17-year-old Kovacs was originally signed by the ‘Canes in 2020 after going undrafted in the WHL Draft. From Delta, British Columbia, Kovacs appeared in 46 regular season games with Lethbridge in 2021-2022, totalling two points with one goal and one assist, along with 17 penalty minutes and a minus-5 rating. Over the course of two seasons, Kovacs suited up in 57 regular season games for Lethbridge.
