Brooks man charged with second degree murder

BROOKS, AB – A man from Brooks has been charged with second degree murder.
On June 22, 2022, at around 11:37 a.m., Brooks RCMP received a report of an unresponsive female in an apartment complex in the city. When officers arrived, they located 30-year-old Tamara Debbie Soosay of Brooks and discovered that she had died.
The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit was called in to investigate. 35-year-old Mat Bangoang Choap of Brooks was arrested and has been charged with second degree murder.
Choap has been remained in custody and is scheduled to appear in Medicine Hat Provincial Court on June 27, 2022. No further details have been released.
