LETHBRIDGE, AB – Hundred of people around Lethbridge got outside to enjoy the sunshine and celebrate Canada Day on Friday.

There was lots happening at the Galt Gardens this morning. starting at 9 a.m. the Interfaith Food Bank hosted a free Canada Day breakfast and food drive.

On the Galt Garden stage, various musical guests played while those who attended browsed stalls set up by local vendors, or played lawn games such as bean bag toss.

On the north side of the park, the Le Baron Car Club hosted a show and shine which featured dozens of vehicles. Everything from classic muscle cars to collectors items were on display, and the money raised from entering a vehicle into the show and shine went towards supporting the Interfaith Food Bank.

Across town, over a thousand Lethbridge residents were celebrating Canada Day at Henderson Lake. Families gathered in picnic areas and around the stage to listen to live music and watch other performances.

You didn’t need to pack a picnic, as there were many different food trucks on site to satisfy any craving one might have. To entertain the kids, there were mascots available to take photos with, the city set up a variety of inflatable obstacle courses and bouncey castles for kids to run through and enjoy.

The Canadian Armed Forces were on site, with a troop transport vehicle to climb into and see as well as showing people some of the various equipment they use, like radar, and missile launchers.
