City of Lethbridge seeking feedback on Cart Relocation Project

Jul 5, 2022 | 10:23 AM

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The City of Lethbridge is asking for feedback on the Waste and Recycling Cart Relocation Project. Residents can fill out a survey until August 1, 2022.

The project began in 2017 and helped to identify key neighborhood areas where it is more efficient and safer to have waste carts collected from the front of residences, rather than the rear lanes.

The City of Lethbridge noted that changing the collection location for these neighborhoods saves on direct collection costs, while reducing financial liability for items like snow and ice control in lanes, and premature lane degradation.

Since the project launched, about 3,800 households have been relocated to front-side collection.

Results of the public survey will be shared at the Economic Standing Policy Committee meeting on September 28, 2022.

The City of Lethbridge collects garbage and recycling for over 34,000 households every week.
