Suspect charged in connection to Lethbridge encampment shooting

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Police have charged a suspect in regards to a shooting that took place at a homeless encampment on Sunday, July 10, 2022 in Lethbridge.

Nathan Parker Spearchief, 37, of Lethbridge has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, discharge a firearm with the intent to endanger life, unauthorized possession of a firearm, use of a firearm while committing an offence, and possession of an offensive weapon dangerous to the public.

Spearchief remains in custody while awaiting his initial hearing.

The firearm used in the shooting has yet to be recovered.

Anyone with information about the weapon or the incident is asked to contact Lethbridge Police at 403-328-4444.
