Tenille Townes leads Alberta artists nominated for CCMA awards

CALGARY, AB – The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Awards show will be well-represented by artists from Alberta.

The organization has announced the nominees for this year’s show.

Tenille Townes, originally from Grande Prairie, is featured in the greatest number of award categories at seven.

She is nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year, Fan’s Choice, Female Artist of the Year, Single of the Year for “Girl Who Didn’t Care,” Songwriter of the Year, and Video of the Year.

Other local artists who are potentially taking home some hardware include Corb Lund (Taber), MacKenzie Porter (Medicine Hat), Brett Kissel (St. Paul), Gord Bamford (raised in Lacombe), High Valley (Blumenort), Lindsay Ell (Calgary), and Aaron Goodvin (Spirit River).

The 2022 CCMA Awards show takes place on September 11, 2022, in Calgary.
