LETHBRIDGE, AB – Performances, cookouts, fundraisers, and more. There are plenty of events happening around Lethbridge this weekend.
Ready to laugh? The Good Times Lethbridge Comedy Club is featuring Matt Foster this weekend. Foster will be performing at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 22, and Saturday, July 23, with doors opening a half-hour before. Foster has been performing since 2015 and earned 2nd place in the 12th annual Funnyfest Comedy Competition 2017. Tickets for Foster’s show are available on Showpass.
For all the meat and barbeque fans, Smoke, Wind & Fire is hosting a two-day festival starting on Saturday, July 23, to celebrate BBQ culture as professional and amateur teams compete to be named the best BBQ. Hosted by Alberta Pork and Hickory Street, and happening at the Lethbridge & District Exhibition, visitors can enjoy live entertainment, a beer garden, and of course BBQ. The professional competition will consist of four categories (Chicken, Ribs, Pork, and Beef Brisket), which will be judged by certified Kansas City Barbeque Society judges. The Backyard Amateur Competition will happen on Saturday and will feature just two categories (Chicken and Ribs). Smoke, Wind & Fire is free to attend and all ages are welcome.
Do you have some items at home you’ve been meaning to fix? Have the parts, but just don’t know where to start? From 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Brews and Screws – Repair Cafe is taking place at Theoretically Brewing on July 23. Brews and Screws will have a few volunteers on hand that will take a shot at fixing your broken items. Organizers ask that if you are planning on bringing something, please call and let them know beforehand so they can let you know if they have someone who has experience fixing your potential item. If you know what part/item is needed to repair your item, you are asked to please bring it with you.
