Lethbridge Police issue 24 traffic violation tickets during weekend enforcement campaign

Jul 25, 2022 | 11:45 AM

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Police in Lethbridge took one impaired driver off the road this past weekend and issued 24 tickets for various violations as part of a traffic enforcement initiative.

The enforcement project will continue on random weekends over the next few months. It’s aimed at providing safer roads for all users and allowing residents more peace and quiet and alleviating demands on Patrol members.

The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) said public complaints about speeding, stunting, racing and loud vehicles have increased.

The Traffic Response Unit hopes an enhanced and boosted police presence will help reduce these behaviours. In addition to the Immediate Roadside Sanction (IRS) Fail for drinking and driving, police issued one IRS Caution and apprehended one suspended driver.
