Vulcan RCMP investigate multiple trespassing complaints

VULCAN, AB – RCMP members in Vulcan are investigating several complaints of trespassing.

On August 12, 2022 at around 4:00 p.m., police responded to a complaint of a woman trespassing on private property south of Champion. When officers arrived, they recognized a vehicle that had been involved in two separate incidents the previous day; one in Claresholm and one in Vulcan.

The RCMP stated that when the suspect noticed that officers were present, she put her vehicle in reverse and hit a police vehicle. Officers say she then put her vehicle in drive and struck a second police vehicle in an attempt to flee the scene.

As a result, one officer was treated for injuries in hospital and was later released.

Vulcan Detachment Commander, Sergeant Troy Dobson said, “Thanks to the quick acting public who called right away, police were able to locate and apprehend the female, which put an end to her two day crime spree.”

Charges in the matter are pending as the investigation continues.
