Application deadline approaching for Lethbridge City Council BCCs

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Residents in Lethbridge are being reminded to apply to be on one of City Council’s Boards, Commissions and Committees (BCCs) with the application deadline fast approaching.

This summer, officials have undertaken a recruitment campaign called ‘Bring Out The Best In Our City’.

A variety of positions are available and give residents an opportunity to be a part of the decision-making process for City Council.

The deadline to apply for a BCC is 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, August 28, 2022 and interested residents can apply through the City of Lethbridge website.

The deadline for the Ward Boundary Commission, which was established on August 9, 2022, is being extended to 11:59 p.m. on Monday, September 5, 2022.

That specific group will have the task of studying if the community would benefit from a Ward Electoral System, as well as proposed actions that may encourage more participation in the municipal political system. More details on the Ward Boundary Commission are available at the City of Lethbridge website.

The City of Lethbridge has made a BCC toolkit available for interested residents and a full list of the BCCs is at the City of Lethbridge webpage. Those with further questions or who are interested in becoming involved can contact the Office of the City Clerk through 311 or by emailing committee@lethbridge.ca.
