
Lethbridge Hurricanes name new Skills and Development Coach
LETHBRIDGE, AB – A new Skills and Development Coach has been named for the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
Charlie Mattersdorfer takes on the role after spending the past two seasons as the Hurricanes’ Power Skating Coach. Mattersdorfer hails from Fernie, B.C. and played with the Hurricanes in 1997-1998, appearing in 47 games where he scored four goals and dished out five assists, along with 17 penalty minutes. Additionally, he spent five seasons with the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns men’s hockey team from 2001 to 2006, skating in 134 games and accumulating 108 points.
Head coach of the Hurricanes, Brent Kisio said, “His [Mattersdorfer] hockey experience, both as a player and as a power skating coach, will be a great addition for our players.”
“Charlie’s enthusiasm on and off the ice is contagious for everyone within our organization and we are very excited to have him in the fold in a bigger capacity for the upcoming season,” Kisio stated.
