LETHBRIDGE, AB – Looking to de-clutter your home or find new treasures? Reuse Rendezvous is taking place across Lethbridge this weekend.

First launched by the City of Lethbridge in 2011, Reuse Rendezvous is now organized by Environment Lethbridge, and serves as a way for you to give away unwanted gently-used items.

Kathleen Sheppard, executive director of Environment Lethbridge, says this event is a good way to make some space or to find something you might need.

“Reuse Rendezvous is the perfect opportunity to de-clutter and pass on items that you no longer need,” explained Sheppard. “It’s also a great opportunity to find new-to-you treasures. For students returning for the fall semester, it’s the perfect way to furnish an apartment or dorm room.”

According to a news release, 165 households participated in the event in 2015, and that number has grown to consistently be between 400-500 households registered in recent years.

Participating in Reuse Rendezvous is simple: on the evening of Friday, September 9, 2022, you are are asked to place unwanted items marked “free” in front of your home. Over the weekend, people can travel around Lethbridge and take items they find appealing. Any items that remain in front of your home on Sunday, September 11, must be reclaimed.

If you want to participate in Reuse Rendezvous, you are asked to register on the Environment Lethbridge website so your home can be added to the online map.
