Two Hurricanes players to attend NHL rookie camps

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A pair of players with the Lethbridge Hurricanes will get some experience with pro hockey clubs.

Defenceman Joe Arntsen, 19, will attend the Carolina Hurricanes rookie camp. He was part of Carolina’s camp back in spring 2022.

The Dinsmore, Saskatchewan product currently serves as the Hurricanes’ co-captain and was picked by the team 35th overall in the 2018 WHL Prospects Draft.

The 6’2″, 200 lb rearguard has appeared in 135 regular season games with Lethbridge in his WHL career, totalling 47 points (10 goals and 37 assists) along with 156 penalty minutes. Arntsen set a career-high of eight goals and 37 points in 68 games this past season.

Forward Ty Nash, 19, will be part of the Edmonton Oilers rookie camp after attending their spring development camp.

The Scottsdale, Arizona product was selected by the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the 2018 WHL Draft in the ninth round (183 overall).

Nash has played 144 regular season games with Lethbridge, totalling 66 points 27 goals and 39 assists) and 77 penalty minutes. He set a career-high of 17 goals and 38 points in 60 games this past season.

Each of the rookie camps runs from September 13-20, 2022.

The Lethbridge Hurricanes continue pre-season action on Friday, September 16, 2022, when they welcome the Red Deer Rebels to the ENMAX Centre.
