Lethbridge Hurricanes re-assign four players
LETHBRIDGE, AB – Four players have been re-assigned by the Lethbridge Hurricanes. 2007-born players Will Sharpe, Kash Andersen, Koen Cleaver and Carsen Adair have been re-assigned to Under-18.
15-year-old Will Sharpe was selected with the 11th overall pick in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft by the Hurricanes. He appeared in one pre-season game with Lethbridge, collecting one goal and a plus-2 rating. In 21 games with the Yale Hockey Academy, Sharpe recorded 42 points (19 goals, 23 assists) and 38 penalty minutes. He will report to Yale’s U18 program for the 2022-2023 season.
15-year-old Kash Andersen will report to the Saskatoon Blazers U18 AAA program. He was chosen by the Hurricanes 33rd overall in the 2022 WHL Draft. He played in one exhibition game for Lethbridge, going pointless with a minus-1 rating. Last year, Andersen scored 25 goals and had 32 assists and 50 penalty minutes in 31 regular season games with the Saskatoon Bandits U15 team.
15-year-old Koen Cleaver was selected in the third round by Lethbridge (48th overall) in the 2022 Draft. From Port Alberni, B.C., he will report to the Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (PCHA) U18 team. Last season, the goaltender posted a record of 9-2-2 with a 2.85 goals against average (GAA) and a .910 save percentage. He had two shutouts in 15 games with the PCHA U15 Prep team. Cleaver appeared in one pre-season game for Lethbridge, posting a 3.85 GAA and a .913 save percentage.
